NICHOLS HILLS, Oklahoma – A police affidavit reveals new details in the murder of a 9-year-old boy.

According to a police affidavit, police arrived on the scene and entered the home of 51-year-old Dr. Stephen Wolf.

Wolf's wife, Mary, was saying "he's killing my son" as officers entered the home.

The affidavit states officers entered the kitchen of the home with weapons drawn and saw Dr. Wolf down on the ground near the dishwasher wrestling with something.  Dr. Wolf was repeatedly saying "He's got the devil in him and you know it" according to the affidavit.

Officers ordered Dr. Wolf to get down on his stomach.  Officers then noticed Dr. Wolf's 9-year-old son, Tommy, lying beneath him.  The affidavit states a knife was seen in the boy's head and one in his chest.  Dr. Wolf then stated, "He's not dead" and tried to grab one of the knives from the boy's body before and officer had to wrestle Wolf to the ground so he could be handcuffed.

The Wolfs' next door neighbor, Douglas Woodson, told officers Dr. Wolf had been going through trouble with his job and was under review with his hospital for anger issues.  Woodson also stated, according to the affidavit, that Dr. Wolf was supposed to be attending rehab for anger and alcohol abuse.

The state medical board said they are not aware of the review and Dr. Wolf has never had any disciplinary action during his practice. However, the board is aware of Dr. Wolf's history of depression, hospitalizations, and treatment.

"Lots of physicians have illnesses and injuries and things they have to live with and deal with. Depression is common so from the standpoint of being treated properly either through psychotherapy and medication, he certainly could practice medicine," said Lyle Kelsey with the Oklahoma State Medical Board.

Dr. Wolf is with Saints Medical Group. They could not give any information about a review, but did say arrangements have been made for other healthcare providers to care for Dr. Wolf's patients.

Nichols Hills Police Chief Richard Mask said officers were called to Wolf's home in the 1700 block of Elmhurst at about 4 a.m. Monday.

Dr. Wolf is being held without bail on a first-degree murder complaint at the Oklahoma County Jail, according to jail records.

Tommy Wolf was a third-grader at Christ the King School. Christ the King Parish and School issued the following statement:

"Christ the King Parish was saddened by the death of a young parishioner at Christ the King Church who was also a student at Christ the King School. The death of a child is always tragic and our prayers and sympathy go out to all those affected by the events of this week. Our efforts are focused on providing counseling and prayerful comfort to the family, students, faculty and staff of Christ the King School and Parish making the school day as normal as possible for our students. The Parish asks all to respect the privacy of our students and their families and allow the church, parish and school to be private havens for healing."
