OKLAHOMA CITY – Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire at a battery warehouse in southwest Oklahoma City Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were called to Hunter's Battery Warehouse, 514 S.W. 25th Street, at about 7 a.m.
Deputy Chief Cecil Clay said firefighters were not sure if any acid or batteries were on fire. They are monitoring air quality and did not order any evacuations.
Chief Clay said the construction of the building made it very difficult to get access to the fire itself, so crews were tired quickly. Also, every firefighter has to be decontaminated as a precaution before getting fluids and cooling off.
Power was shut off in the area for about an hour and some roads were blocked off.
