Man Admits to Sex with Teen, Arrested 27 Years Later

ENID, Oklahoma -- Enid police have arrested a man in connection with an alleged rape that occurred 27 years ago.

Police arrested Gary Rice, 68, Thursday morning for two counts of first-degree rape and three counts of lewd molestation.

On September 15, 2009, Enid police said they received a report from a female victim who is now 42 years of age. The victim told police she had been sexually assaulted in 1982/1983 by Rice, who was a family friend, on at least two occasions and was sexually molested on three other separate occasions. The victim would have been about 15 or 16 years of age at the time of the crime.

During a police interview, Rice admitted that he did have sexual intercourse with the victim at least two times between 1982 and 1983 and said he "thought the victim was 13 at the time of the crimes." Rice also told police he had molested the victim on three separate occasions and said "they had done just about everything."
