Several Wrecks Tie Up Interstate Traffic As Rain Moves Into Metro

Several wrecks tied up metro traffic as a band of rain moves through the Oklahoma City area. Two wrecks are being reported on I-35 between Memorial Road and 33rd Street and a semi-truck has rolled over near I-40 and Eastern Avenue.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Several wrecks tied up metro traffic as a band of rain moves through the Oklahoma City area

I-35 north and southbound lanes were narrowed to one lane between Memorial Road and 33rd Street due to accidents in both directions, but all lanes have been reopened.

Police responded to two accident on I-35 northbound including a rollover accident near Memorial Road. On I-35 southbound at 33rd street, emergency crew worked an accident involving an ambulance.

Six people total from all three wrecks were transported to the hospital. One person is in critical condition. Another transported was an infant. The others' conditions are not known at this time. 

A semi-truck rolled over on eastbound Interstate 40 at Eastern Avenue slowing down both east and westbound traffic. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers said the crash is no longer causing delays.

State Troopers said the driver of a cement truck lost control of the vehicle during a rain storm and rolled over into the median.

Troopers said his injuries were not serious and no other vehicles were involved.
