Emergency Repairs Close Lanes at Amarillo Junction

OKLAHOMA CITY – Drivers are being urged to avoid the Amarillo junction as crews make emergency repairs to a highway bridge.

Eastbound Interstate 40 and eastbound Interstate 44 are narrowed to one lane at the Amarillo junction west of downtown Oklahoma City until 6 a.m. Saturday for emergency bridge repair.

Crews monitoring the area discovered that a 1 ft. hole in the bridge.

Severe congestion is expected in the area and drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes, such as Interstates 235 or 240.
