NORMAN, Oklahoma - Redshirt freshman quarterback Landry Jones played well, the OU defense dominated all day, and the Sooners rolled to an easy 64-0 victory over Idaho State Saturday.

Jones started his first full game after replacing injured Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford, and threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns. Those three touchdown passes were thrown to sophomore Ryan Broyles, who reached a new career high with 155 receiving yards.

Jones' most impressive throw of the night came on his third touchdown pass to Broyles. Jones tossed a perfect pass into the back corner of the endzone and never gave the Idaho State defender a chance to knock down the football.

Head coach Bob Stoops elected to leave Landry Jones in for most of the game, but he was relieved by junior John Nimmo in the fourth quarter. Jones' only big mistake of the night came in the third quarter when he threw an interception on fourth down.

OU entered the game with a completely retooled offensive line after the unit struggled in the Sooners' loss to BYU. Jarvis Jones moved from guard to right tackle, Brody Eldridge moved from center to tight end, and Ben Habern, Tyler Evans and Stephen Good made their first starts.

Habern and Evans are true freshmen, while Good is a sophomore. All three played well, and Evans was a particularly pleasant surprise. The line as a whole kept defenders away from Landry Jones and opened gaping holes in the running game.

DeMarco Murray registered his first 100-yard rushing game of the season and averaged 8.4 yards per carry, and true freshman Jonathan Miller was impressive in his first significant action. He rushed for 94 yards and broke a 36-yard run for the first touchdown of his collegiate career.

The OU defense was even more dominant, holding the Bengals to negative yardage and just one first down in the first half. The defense also got its first score of the season when Gerald McCoy forced a fumble that Frank Alexander scooped up and returned for a touchdown.

Idaho State finished with -22 yards rushing and 40 total yards, while OU had 570 yards. The Sooners also had good balance, finishing with 286 passing yards and 284 rushing yards.

The victory gives OU 25 consecutive wins at home which ties the school record that ended in 1953.
