Del City Police Investigate Murder Suicide

DEL CITY, Oklahoma -- Del City police said the deaths of two people were the result of a murder-suicide.

Del City Police Capt. Jody Suit said officers got a call about noon Friday of shots being fired at the Dor Jay Apartments near Sunnylane Road and Interstate 40. Del City police said two men had been arguing about a woman there.

"During the course of that fight, one of those males produced a firearm and shot the other one," Suit said.

Suit said when officers arrived, they found 50-year-old Danny Cheadle face down in a parking lot. He said medics tried to revive Cheadle but were unsuccessful.

The suspect in the case fled the scene in a gold Honda Accord.

Suit said about 15 minutes later, officers received word of another shooting victim at a car wash nearby. Suit said the person found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound was the suspect in the initial shooting.

The second victim's name wasn't released.
