BARTLESVILLE, OK -- A Bartlesville man, Marty Owens, is in the Washington County jail accused of ramming his truck through his wife's home and then trying to shoot and strangle her.

Alissa Owens says she and her daughter are lucky to be alive. They thank God and the Good Samaritan who saved Alissa's life.

Owens can't help but be haunted by the terrifying moment her house came crashing down, and she nearly lost her life.

"We've been praying for some time that God would keep his hand on us and keep us protected, and we know he did just that," said Alissa Owens.

It was early Sunday morning Owens says her estranged husband Marty had been calling and texting. Then, his truck suddenly slammed through the front of the house.

"I knew it was bad, very, very bad," said Alissa Owens.

And it got much worse. Alissa says when she saw Marty Owens in a Kevlar helmet and vest, she ran and called 911.

"I just screamed a blood curdling scream, because I knew why he was there," said Alissa Owens.

She ran to the bedroom where her nine-year-old daughter and a friend were awakened by the crash and afraid of what would come next.

"Just started beating the door and after about three or four hits, he busted the hinge and I got up because I knew he would be on top of me," said Alissa Owens.

Alissa says her husband pointed a rifle at her and fired, but the gun didn't go off. That's when she says her husband of ten years began choking her on her daughter's bedroom floor.

"And Morgan is screaming the whole time telling daddy, ‘please don't do this, don't do this,'" said Alissa Owens.

Alissa believes she was moments away from dying, when a good samaritan from across the street, Clemmont Rowe, stepped in to help.

"When he heard me start screaming, he grabbed him in a choke hold and pulled him off of me, and pulled him across the bed," said Alissa Owens.

Owens says Rowe showed amazing courage and is her hero for saving her life and the life of her daughter.

"He was my angel because I know I wouldn't be here. I know that," said Alissa Owens.

Marty Owens faces a number of charges and is being held in the Washington County jail.
