OKLAHOMA CITY -- A shooting on the campus of Langston University has the school looking at student safety.
Monday, officials announced new security plans that include a gated campus and 24-hour manned checkpoints. The university is also cancelling all social functions for the next 30 days.
"We want to make sure that not only our students feel secure and safe, but we want their parents to know they made the right choice in sending them to Langston University," said Dr. Angelia Jones, Vice-President of Student Affairs.
Five people were shot Sunday morning on Langtson's campus. Neither the victims nor the suspect who was arrested were university students.
