OKLAHOMA CITY -- The world-wide fight against the H1N1 flu virus will be front and center in Oklahoma City.

IPS Research is planning to enroll about 200 Oklahoma children in a clinical trial for a possible vaccine of the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu.

Medical professionals are saying a vaccine needs to be found sooner rather than later. However, the trials have been delayed because the vaccine isn't ready yet.

"It's spreading really quickly. It is moving through the population about 10 times faster than the regular flu, so as kids go back to school, the numbers of people who are going to get sick are going to increase dramatically," said Dr. Louise Thurman with IPS Research Co.

Another 1,000 children will participate in the trial in other parts of the country.

IPS Research will find out Friday if adult trials will also be conducted.
