BETHEL, Oklahoma -- Bethel resident Barbara Jane Hodge, 33, died when her car crashed into a tree after leaving a road in McCurtain County at about 1 a.m. Sunday. Her husband and 15-year-old son were also in the car.
Hodge was driving under the influence, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Hodge was driving northbound about six miles south and 11 miles west of Smithville when the car left the road, struck a tree, began to overturn then struck a second tree. The car spun back onto the roadway, landing on its wheels.
Her husband, 42-year-old James Wesley Hodge, had a possible head injury but refused treatment, the trooper states. Son Dusty Crawford was uninjured.
Hodge was not wearing her seatbelt, the report said.
