Police Search for Suspect in Del City Shooting

DEL CITY, Oklahoma -- A man was killed in an early morning shooting in Del City that police believe may have been gang related.

The shooting happened near 33 Street and S Bryant Avenue at the Oak Ridge Apartments.

Del City police said they responded to multiple calls at the apartment complex before the shooting occurred including reports of fighting and shots fired.

The man who was shot and killed was identified as 27-year-old Marcello Jones.

Police think the shooting was an incident between gangs and the shooting may have started as a fight that escalated.

Del City police have yet to identify a suspect but believe there may be multiple people involved.

Police Capt. Jody Suit said investigators are questioning two men who were detained at the complex with a gun in their vehicle, but he said its not known if the men are connected to the shooting.
