Bachelorette Party Turns Into Brawl

OKLAHOMA CITY -- It was supposed to be an evening out to celebrate her upcoming wedding, but instead, her bachelorette party turned into a bachelorette brawl. When the dust settled the bride was among those injured, and a man she didn't know was under arrest.

Emily Cunningham still has a lot to do before she leaves for Hawaii tomorrow morning. She's getting married there on Friday.

"We've heard there's bad weather, possible tsunami in Hawaii," Cunningham said. "It's just one disaster after another."

The other disaster Cunningham is referring to happened at Club Rodeo early Sunday morning. Cunningham's friends had surprised her with a stretch limo and a night out.

"It was my bachelorette party," Cunningham said. "We were just trying to have fun dancing, just my best girl friends."

But Cunningham says the fun was cut short by a man they didn't even know; Sterling Beecroft.

"It was basically over something so silly, they wanted to use our table," Cunningham said. "We said 'no.' This went on for 20 minutes; 'please go away, leave us alone' and finally all us were like 'go away.'"

That's when Cunningham says Beecroft grabbed her face and started slamming it against the club's wall, leaving her with a concussion.

"I've got two big lumps on the back of my head," Cunningham said.

Two of her friends tried to help and ended up black and bruised.

"Threw a beer bottle, bounced off a table and hit my other friend in the chin," Cunningham said. "She's got a swollen chin. Another friend got an elbow to the eye so she has a black eye."

Police say bouncers at the club held Beecroft until officers arrived to arrest him.

"They evidently got into a scuffle with him in the parking lot," Cunningham said. "He did sustain some injuries from this incident."

Meanwhile, Cunningham is trying to put the past behind her and look to her future, especially her wedding.

"I think we're ready," Cunningham said.

Sterling Beecroft was arrested on a number of charges, including three counts of assault and battery. He's since been released from jail.
