The left and center lanes of westbound I-40 Crosstown were closed west of Classen Boulevard. Crews discovered a hole in the bridge earlier today and made temporary repairs.

Both lanes opened around 3:20 p.m.

The aging elevated freeway is frequently closed for emergency repairs. The Crosstown bridge will be demolished after work is completed on a new Interstate 40.

The new modern freeway is being built south of downtown near the Oklahoma River. For more information on the I-40 relocation project or to track the problems with the Crosstown Expressway, click on News9.com's Crumbling Crosstown page.
