NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Cleveland County Sheriff's office is making a big move.

Cleveland County is growing, and so are the needs of Sheriff Joe Lester's department.

In a couple of years the old jail will be replaced by a new one. In the meantime, much of the office has moved across the street to a bank building.

Undersheriff Rhett Burnett says the County Commissioners approved a permanent move  to the bank for several departments--administration, the civil division, IT, financial, and support staff.

The move was earlier this week, and the staff is adjusting to its new surroundings and debugging the equipment.

"Well, we need more space," Undersheriff Rhett Burnett said. "The county's growing by leaps and bounds. We're getting ready to build this new jail, which is only going to house detention specialists. We're going to need sort of a support network here to house our four locations that we'll have."

Meanwhile, the vacated offices in the old jail building will be used for other functions.
