CHOCTAW, Oklahoma -- An Oklahoma man is pleading to the public for help to find a stolen truck that is crucial to his livelihood.

The Anderson Travel Plaza on Choctaw Road and I-40 allows some people to park their trucks there overnight at their own risk.

For the past year and a half, Dennis Cannon has parked his 2001 green Peterbilt semi-truck there overnight in the rear area of the Anderson Travel Plaza. It's become such a familiar fixture there that the green cab even appears to be visible on Google Street maps.

But Tuesday morning when Cannon went to pick up his truck that he uses to haul rocks, the truck was nowhere to be found.

"I was going to haul some rock up to service our construction. I went to get my truck about five o'clock this morning, and my truck was gone," Cannon said.

Somebody had driven off with the truck during the night, out of the range of the Travel Plaza's security cameras.

"I hate it so bad. I know that was his sole livelihood. I hate it with all my heart. But we're sure not held responsible by anyone and anyway," said Ashley England, Anderson Travel Plaza assistant manager.

Cannon's truck was fully insured.

"Sooner or later I'm sure the insurance company will pay off, but I have no living until that point in time, until I get another one," Cannon said.

Anyone with information about stolen truck should call Oklahoma City police at 405-297-1160.
