NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers said a suspected drunk driver led troopers on a pursuit that ended with shots fired.

OHP Captain Chris West said troopers tried to pull over a suspect when he took off. The pursuit ended at 12th Avenue and Cedar Lane Road when the truck ran over stop sticks, lost control and landed in a ditch.

Officers confronted the man after his tires deflated in Norman.

"The troopers got out and prelimary information is that the driver went at one of the troopers so another one did fire some shots," Oklahoma Highway Patrol Capt. Chris West said.

The suspect was taken to a hospital with superficial wounds, but it's not clear if he was hit by gunfire or by flying glass.

No troopers or police officers were hurt.

The suspect's name and current condition have not been released.
