Woman Found Dead in Moore Apartment

MOORE, Oklahoma - Police in Moore say a woman has been found dead inside her ransacked apartment and officers are looking for her missing boyfriend.

"Thursday night, or Friday night we heard gun shots," neighbor Veda Miller said. "But, we thought it was firecrackers. And one of my neighbors, she smelled an odor in the house."

No names have been released.

Officer Jeremy Lewis says police were asked by a neighbor to check on the woman after she hadn't been seen for several days and a foul odor was noticed coming from the apartment.

"There was blood splattered, there was things gone through, there was drawers that were gone through," Lewis said. "There was some trash thrown around. It was just obvious that she wasn't just a natural cause."

Lewis says the woman's body had obvious signs of trauma and she may have been dead for days.
