OKLAHOMA CITY -- The annual Information Warfare Summit is teaching people how to protect themselves from hackers and identity theft.

The best way to protect yourself is to arm yourself by learning the tricks of their trade.

Famed hacker Charlie Miller, who became the first person to hack into both the iPhone and Google phone, is now teaching others how to beat the ‘bad guys.'

He's helping computer experts keep an eye out for cyber attacks and that brings dozens of pros from banks and even hospitals to the FBI to keep up with security solutions at this summit.

"The weakest part of security is the person. There's a lot of Microsoft that can protect you, but in the end, it's my grandma or my sister and they're not trained in computer security," Miller said. "They're just trying to read their mail."

Experts say don't click on a link you can't trust, know that you're at risk and any information on the web could be vulnerable, that includes your bank account.

"If you have Gmail or if you have hotmail, you have to assume your e-mail is readable by anybody," said Kevin Turner of Information System Security Association. "It's not private."

Experts say to protect yourself, get a firewall on your computer system and make sure you run anti-viral and anti-spyware software.

There are plenty of ways to get more information on how to protect yourself. You can do a simple search on Google or talk to a local consulting firm.
