OKLAHOMA CITY -- Where do rockabilly, punk, pop, soul and red dirt music all live side by side?  At the new exhibit "Another Hot Oklahoma Night" at the Oklahoma History Center.

The exhibit's title comes from a line in the song "Oklahoma" written by Michal Been of The Call. The group was formed in California, but its founding members hail from the Sooner state.

"Another Hot Oklahoma Night" traces the roots of Oklahoma's involvement in the rock music revolution of the past 50 years and more.

Jeff Moore, Director of Exhibits at the Oklahoma History Center, recalls the exhibit's evolution.

"There were a lot of stories that we knew, the staff, that we knew just from our own musical tastes or interest in Oklahoma history," Moore said.  "But the deeper we got, the bigger the story became.  We had those moments where we're like, 'I can't believe no one knows, that this isn't common knowledge.'"

"We have this amazing story that really hasn't been told quite like this," Moore added.

According to Moore, at least 90 percent of the exhibit is never-before-seen Oklahoma rock memorabilia.

"ANOTHER HOT OKLAHOMA NIGHT" OPENS ON SATURDAY MAY 2 AT THE OKLAHOMA HISTORY CENTER.  FOR MORE INFO, CALL 522-0765 OR VISIT  http://www.anotherhotoklahomanight.org/
