Rumble Visits Students of Midwest City

MIDWEST CITY -- The Oklahoma City Thunder mascot, Rumble the Bison, paid a surprise visit Friday to students at Barnes Elementary School.

Many of the school's students were forced to evacuate Thursday after grassfires endangered or destroyed homes around the school.

"The schools, they are the saving grace for some families because the fact they have things to do, when tragedy happens, the schools are the first places they come," said Katherine Hughes, Assistant Superintendent of Mid-Del Schools.

Rumble signed autographs and took pictures with the students and their families still recovering from the destructive fire.

Four of the school's students lost their homes to the blaze.
