EDMOND, Oklahoma -- After achieving what they thought was the American dream in Edmond, two friends realized there was more to be done in the world.
They formed an organization called No Boundaries International, a Christian non-profit that follows a simple approach to fulfilling people's basic needs. They rescue those who need help, and train them.
At a time when dangerous drug cartel wars in Mexico are keeping even Spring Break partiers from crossing the border, the missionaries from Edmond have no boundaries.
"The people who are in desperation, and they're crying out," founder Lori Basey said. "We end up knocking on their door."
Once inside, they say they offer love. They minister, and pray.
"One of the first days we were down there, we bought some groceries and we visited this elderly lady that was in a wheelchair," NBI volunteer Tabithia Scantlin said. "Her husband was also in a wheelchair. We just walked in and she started weeping. She was so thankful for us. Turns out her husband had fallen the day before and he hadn't moved since.
They've traveled not only to Mexico, but also to Haiti, Israel, Sierra Leon, and Africa. They work in Oklahoma.
After school, No Boundaries staff watches children in Edmond who may not have anywhere else to go.
They've learned, no matter which side of the border they're on, there's a need.
