OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City police arrested 41-year-old Sergeant Daniel Dominguez Tuesday after he allegedly struck his girlfriend during a domestic dispute.
Dominguez hit his girlfriend Monday with his gun in the Oklahoma Spine Hospital and in front of her seven year old child, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Investigators said Dominguez was working security for the hospital.
"During the time she was up there they got into a verbal argument and sometime during the argument the officer assaulted her," said Captain Steve McCool.
The police report described Dominguez striking his on-again, off-again girlfriend with a gun above her left knee while her daughter witnessed the alleged attack.
The woman told police that during the argument Dominguez told her, "You've got three options and you're not going to like them. We can get married and I can be a good husband, we can be done now and I'll take everybody with me, or you can put a bullet in my head right now."
After the fight, his girlfriend said the officer threatened her.
The report read, "Dominguez told her if she reported the incident, everything would be ‘done.'"
The woman understood this threat as Dominguez would kill her.
"After taking a statement from the victim, it established enough probable cause for a probably cause arrest warrant to be issues," McCool said.
Officers arrested Dominguez one day later while he was working security inside Crossroads mall.
Since the incident, Dominguez's girlfriend has filed an emergency protection order for her and her daughter and is also seeking a paternity test.
This is the third time in the past six months an Oklahoma City police officer has been arrested for domestic abuse.
