OKLAHOMA CITY -- There are dozens of medications that help you fall asleep at night. But a new pill promises to wake you up on time feeling energized.

If you're not a morning person it sounds like the perfect pill. "Wake Up On Time" claims you'll wake-up with a burst of energy, but before you buy, listen to what our volunteers said about the pill that guarantees a good morning, every morning.

Think of it as an alarm clock in a bottle. The creator of "Wake Up on Time," Cathy Beggan, said it's the first and only time released energy supplement designed to get even the most heavy of sleepers out of bed.

"I think a lot of focus has been on putting people to sleep, but there hasn't been anything to help people wake up," the "Wake Up On Time" Inventor said.

Beggan said take two pills before bed, and a time-released formula will wake you up 7 to 8 hours later with a blend of vitamins and herbal supplements designed to get your day started on the right foot.

"There's a very high dosage of all the B vitamins and guarana seed extract, which is a natural form of caffeine," Beggan said.

NEWS 9 asked Dr. Jonathan Schwartz from Integris Sleep Disorder Center to take a closer look at the claims. He said the pill is nothing more than a cup of coffee in a capsule, and it may not work for those who already depend on caffeine.

"The trouble is most people in our society use caffeine every day. Coffee, soft drinks, ice tea, and we become tolerant to its affects," Dr. Schwartz said.

Two members of the NEWS 9 family tried the pills for a few nights.

Photographer Brandon Mowry said he actually had trouble sleeping.

"I woke up every two hours, so it was like I didn't sleep as sound as I usually do," Mowry said.

Elizabeth Hunt, a video editor, had the same problems as Brandon and saw little change in the morning.

"You told me that the pills are supposed to make you feel more energetic and ready to get out of bed and ready to go and I was like ‘Alright, time to get up.' So nothing new, kind of how it is every day," Hunt said.

The makers of "Wake Up On Time" said the pills are not addictive, but none of the product's claims have been evaluated by the FDA.
