KELLYVILLE, Oklahoma -

A Salina man is in the Creek County jail after his arrest following a quadruple fatality crash late Friday in Kellyville.

Kellyville Police said the crash happened at 9:15 p.m. on Highway 66, south of the intersection with Highway 33.

In a news release, police said four Kellyville residents were killed in the crash.  They are identified as Vernon M. Bowles, 74; Susie B. Frazier, 74; Vivian R. Henry, 51, and an unidentified 9-year-old.

Police said David Ernst, 52, was driving east on Highway 66 when his 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck crossed the center line and struck a 1999 Buick sedan head on.

The four killed were in the Buick.

Early Saturday morning Cristy Evans says police told her some of her family members didn't make it home after a shopping trip.

"We're having a hard time here especially due to the circumstances of how they were taken, but were strong and we're going to make it through. We have a strong community here in Kellyville and there's outpour of people that love us we're going to make it," said Cristy Evans, granddaughter.

"My grandmother, my aunt, my nephew and my grandmother's boyfriend are all gone."

"There was a lot really good people in that car. They were loved by a lot of people for many years," said Mike Evans, family member.

Beverly Edwards was Sue Frazier's neighbor.  She is still in shock after learning her neighbor of 20 years was not coming home.

"We just couldn't believe it. It's something you hear it but you don't think it's here," said Beverly Edwards.  "The community is helping this family grieve after losing three generations of family members.

Police say David Ernst was booked into jail on four complaints of first degree manslaughter and a complaint of unsafe lane use after he was released from a Tulsa hospital.

Jail records show Ernst's bond was set at $305,000.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers, Creek County Sheriff's Office and Kellyville Police and Fire worked the crash.

Authorities said the highway remained closed several hours after the crash.

An investigation into the crash continues.
