OKLAHOMA CITY -

Thunderstorms are likely for Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night. The highest risk of more concentrated severe storms will be across portions of southwestern and central Oklahoma during the afternoon and evening, most likely from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Areas within the READY area (Oklahoma City and Tulsa) can expect severe weather watches and warnings during this time, which does include the possibility of tornadoes. Review your tornado safety precautions, so you can take action quickly if a warning is issued for your location.

Those in the AWARE area can expect less of a severe weather threat, and should just stay aware of the weather conditions throughout the day.

There are still some big uncertainties with the evolution of Wednesday's severe weather setup. Temperatures across the northward lifting warm front could vary as much as 20 to 30 degrees, leaving locations north of the boundary in the 50s, with 70s and 80s to the south on the warm side!

The position of this boundary Wednesday, along with the amount of afternoon instability available after morning clouds and rain, will be crucial to the coverage and intensity of severe storms. Check back for frequent updates!
