An Oklahoma City pharmacist convicted of murder is facing more charges after prosecutors say his son tried to smuggle pain relieving patches to him in prison.

Prosecutors charged Jerome Ersland with possession of contraband, and his son, Jeff Ersland, with bringing contraband into the Joseph Harp Correctional Facility.

Back in November, 2012, sources tell News 9 that Jerome Ersland's son Jeff tried to smuggle pain relievers into a visiting room at the Joseph Harp Correctional Facility.

News 9 learned that Jeff Ersland gave his dad two pain relieving patches. It is unclear if the patches were previously prescribed to Jerome, but News 9 is told prison officials discovered the patches on Ersland while conducting an "after-visitor search."

Both Jerome and Jeff allegedly admitted to prison investigators they exchanged the patches.

On Monday, there is a warrant out for Jeff Ersland's arrest.
