OKLAHOMA CITY -
Police are looking
for an Oklahoma City woman after family members report her missing.
The woman's
parents are concerned she could be in danger. Family members of 29-year-old
Jamie Walton say she was last seen at the northwest Oklahoma City home she
shares with her parents. Thursday will mark five days, and still, the search is
on.
"My biggest fear
is that [Jamie has] harmed herself or someone has harmed her," concerned mother
Jinny Walton said. "Every minute is like an hour and every hour is like a day."
Jamie's parents
say the last time she was seen was Saturday morning while she was enjoying a
cup of coffee with her mom at the home they share. After that, she vanished,
according to her parents. Her car is nowhere to be found.
A missing person's
report was filed Sunday, but because Jamie is an adult and there is no
suspicion of foul play. Oklahoma City police will investigate, but will not send
out an alert.
"We think the best
thing [is] that it is a voluntary disappearance, but it's just totally [unlike]
Jamie," Philip Walton, Jamie's father said.
The Waltons are
expressing frustration over how police are handling their case.
"I don't know what
the detective is doing because she's not updating us," Philip said. "It's been
like pulling teeth to get [police] to do the two pings we talked them into
doing."
Those two pings
allowed Jamie's father to trace his daughter's phone to an area centered around
I-35 and Main Street in Norman. They searched for Jamie in the area and hopes
were high, but there was no luck.
"We've had people
[in Norman] yesterday, the day before that [and] people out there today," Jinny
said as she explained the effort to find her daughter. "We cannot find her
car."
Jamie's car is a
2012 white Acura TSX with Oklahoma tag 776-JLP. If you see it, call police.
Jamie's parents
say they have no idea why their daughter's phone is being traced to Norman
because Jamie, apparently, has no connections to the area. Family members tell
News 9 Norman Police are also investigating the case.
