Oklahoma County deputies say two burglary suspects raced down Oklahoma City streets at more than 100 mph, trying to escape from law enforcement.

Around 4 a.m. on Christmas Eve, an Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office deputy noticed a suspicious pickup truck parked near S.E. 44th Street and Luther Road. There have been several burglaries in the area recently, so the deputy called for backup.

While the deputy waited for backup, the driver suddenly made an illegal U-turn and drove away at a high rate of speed. The deputy tried to stop the driver, but he refused to pull over and a pursuit began.

The deputy reported the driver reached speeds of more than 100 mph and drove recklessly during the pursuit. Within minutes, the driver crashed into a fence at S.W. 46th Street and Ross.

The driver, identified as 48-year-old Tony Lee Webster, jumped out of the truck and tried to run away. He was arrested within minutes.

The passenger, 29-year-old Jessie Ray Collins, was arrested immediately after the truck crashed. After taking both men into custody, deputies searched the truck and found prescription medications that belonged to a burglary victim in the 4600 block of S. Luther Road, where the pursuit began.

Webster was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on second-degree burglary and eluding police. Collins was booked on one complaint of second-degree burglary.
