OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City Police arrested a 25-year-old man accused of raping a girl while she slept.

A man called police on December 10 and reported his 14-year-old daughter just told him she'd been raped. The girl told police it happened the weekend after Thanksgiving, when she spent the night at her mother's home.

The girl said she was sleeping on the floor when Brent Esgar attacked her. She said he pulled off her clothes and raped her. When the attack was over, the girl ran into her mother's bedroom and slept in her bed. She said she didn't tell anyone about the assault because she was too afraid.

The girl finally told her father what happened, and he reported the attack to police. When officers spoke to the girl's mother, she told them Esgar was her ex-boyfriend and they have two children together. She said he was homeless, and sometimes slept in her detached garage.

Police later located Esgar and arrested him. He was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on one count of first-degree rape.
