Jones Man Dies After Crashing Into Tree, Telephone Pole

JONES, Oklahoma -

A high-speed collision with a tree and telephone pole has claimed the life of a man from Jones late Saturday evening.

Sgt. Joe Bradley with the Jones Police Department said the collision happened in the 14500 Block of Northeast 63rd Street. The driver, later identified as 22-year-old Justin Whisenhunt, was eastbound on 63rd Street at a high rate of speed.

Whisenhunt lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a tree and a telephone pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, alcohol was found inside of the vehicle.

The Sheriff's Office was requested by Jones police to assist in the investigation.
