Oklahomans To Be Treated To Unusual Sight In Night Sky

TULSA, Oklahoma -

The weather should be perfect for Oklahomans to see a beautiful sight just after sunset on Wednesday, November 28, 2012.

Jupiter and the full Moon will be only a degree apart in the eastern sky.

"Jupiter rises in the northeast about 5:20 p.m. as the sun sets on the opposite side of the sky. Jupiter and the Full Moon will rise only 1 degree apart," said John Land with the Astronomy Club of Tulsa.

Land says both the Moon and Jupiter will appear in the constellation of Taurus near a "V" shaped star cluster called the Hyades.

Jupiter and the Moon will be so bright they'll be visible even from brightly-lit cities.

Saturn and Venus were less than a degree apart in the southeast sky before dawn on Wednesday. Wednesday evening's viewing condition should be almost perfect.
