OKLAHOMA CITY -

An overnight accident on Interstate 40 has caused highway patrol troopers to temporarily shut down the inside lanes near SE 29th St., Sunday morning.

Troopers say a car traveling west on I-40 when it struck the inside median for an unknown reason, causing a large chunk of concrete from the inside wall fell on SE 29th St. below. The inside lanes were closed for approximately 45 minutes.

One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The accident occurred in virtually the same area as another accident involving a semitrailer that overturned on Saturday evening. No one was injured in that accident.

OHP says that the accidents are not related, but they are investigating.
