Governor Fallin Denies Parole Recommendation For Convicted Killer

A jury convicted Quincy Foster in the murder of Debra Dennis in 1996. Foster was then given a life sentence.

Debra Dennis died in 1993 when Quincy Foster demanded money from Dennis and her mother, Louise Johnson, outside of their Chickasha home.

The family of Debra Dennis has since started an online petition to keep the convicted killer behind bars.

OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin has denied a parole board's recommendation to release a man who was found guilty in the murder of a Chickasha mother 16 years ago.

Debra Dennis was killed in 1993 when Quincy Foster demanded money from Dennis and her mother, Louise Johnson, outside of their Chickasha home. When the women could only offer 24 cents, Foster shot and killed Dennis, according to authorities.

A jury convicted Quincy Foster in the murder of Debra Dennis in 1996. Foster was then given a life sentence.

In July of 2012, a parole board recommended Foster's release after serving 16 and half years in prison.

The family of Debra Dennis has since started an online petition to keep the convicted killer behind bars. The family also asked for the governor to reject the Parole Board's recommendation to release Foster from prison only 16 and half years after Dennis' death.

According to Governor Mary Fallin's office, the governor received the Board's parole recommendation for Foster on September 25. She denied the recommendation on September 28.
