West Nile Virus Kills 8 Oklahomans

OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported Tuesday morning that another Oklahoman has died from West Nile Virus.

The number of deaths rose from seven to eight since last week's update from the health department. The most recent death occurred in Tulsa County.

The total number of West Nile cases also rose from 123 to 127. Seventy-seven people have been hospitalized with the disease.

Oklahoma County has 41 diagnosed cases of West Nile Virus, the most in the state. That's followed by Tulsa, Carter, and Pittsburg counties.
