A man died Thursday morning in a one-car crash in Spencer. His 13-year-old son was also injured.
SPENCER, Oklahoma -
A 42-year-old father died early Thursday morning when he lost control of his car near N.E. 36th Street and Post Road.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office says around 2:30 a.m., Marvin Patton swerved off the road and over-corrected. He hit a brick mailbox and crashed in a ditch. He died at the scene.
The driver's 13-year-old son was also in the car. He was rushed to a hospital, and was listed in serious condition with fractures to his face and wrist, as well as bruises and lacerations.
Deputies are not sure yet what caused the driver to lose control.
