CANADIAN COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A motorcycle crash in Canadian County has claimed the life of an Oklahoma City man.

It happened at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 just east of Garth Brooks Boulevard.

Charles Frederick Allen, 65, was driving a 2002 Honda motorcycle, eastbound on I-40, when he passed out due to the heat or a medical condition, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle then fell to the ground on its side, sliding 37 feet, and came to rest on the outside lane of I-40 eastbound.

Allen was transported to the Presbyterian Hospital where he later died of head and internal injuries.
