Three children are in critical condition and six other people
injured after a single-vehicle accident on the Indian Nation Turnpike in
Pushmataha County, Saturday morning.
Hayley, 10, Mason, 7, and Joshua Cochran, 6, were all
life-flighted from the accident to Children's Hospital in Dallas where they are
listed in critical condition.
The accident occurred around 11 p.m. near mile marker 23 in
Pushmataha County. The driver, 33-year-old Jelena Cureington was heading
northbound on the turnpike when she fell asleep at the wheel.
The vehicle went off the road to the left and onto the
median. Cureington then overcorrected back to the right and the vehicle
flipped, rolling one time and ending up back on its wheels.
There were nine people in the car including the driver;
three adults and six children. Six of the passengers were ejected various
distances from the vehicle during the accident.
Cureington and five of the passengers were taken to
Pushmataha County Hospital. The passengers, 35-year-old Elizabeth Daniels,
27-year-old Emma Cochran and 17-year-old Dalton Lacore were treated for minor
injuries and released.
Another passenger, 9-year-old Less Cochran, was taken to the
Pushmataha County Hospital, then transferred to McAlister Regional Hospital by
ambulance where he is listed in stable condition.
There was also a 2 year old in the car, Noah Cochran, who
was in a child seat and not injured.
