OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City police are investigating a serious crash that sent a woman and a child to the hospital Wednesday night.

Police say the woman, who's in her mid-40s, lost control of her truck, hit several curbs, flipped the vehicle and hit a utility pole on S.W. 89th Street between Penn and Western. Witnesses told police it appeared the woman had been racing another vehicle when she lost control of her truck.

Witnesses say they were stunned when they learned there was also a toddler-aged child inside the vehicle. Both were taken to a hospital, and are expected to be all right. Police don't know how or if the woman and child are related.

Police are still investigating the accident to determine exactly what happened. They are also searching for the other car that may have been involved in the alleged race.
