DURANT, Okla. (AP) - Two Durant men were killed when the vehicle in which they were riding left the road and struck a tree in Bryan County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 50-year-old Jackey J. Ross Jr. and 25-year-old Jackey J. Ross III sustained massive injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident about 5:20 a.m. Tuesday on Oklahoma 70E near Durant.
Troopers say Jackey J. Ross Jr. was driving the vehicle west on the highway when the vehicle left the roadway to the right. The patrol says he overcorrected, then left the road to the left and struck a tree on the passenger side.
Both were pinned until Calera firefighters freed them. Troopers say they were wearing seat belts.
