ASHDOWN, Ark. (AP) - An Oklahoma man who eluded authorities for nearly a week after he drove off in a police cruiser has surrendered in Arkansas.
Police say 31-year-old Nathan Katzenstein surrendered to authorities in Little River County on Saturday afternoon. Authorities say Katzenstein was initially arrested Monday in Wright City, Okla., on suspicion of public intoxication, but kicked out a back window and drove off in the police car.
The patrol car was abandoned six miles south of Wright City.
Authorities say Katzenstein was spotted days later near the Oklahoma-Arkansas border, but he was able to break through a roadblock set up by McCurtain County officials and continue driving.
Little River County Sheriff Danny Russell says Katzenstein was hiding in the woods and was arrested without incident and taken to the county jail.
