BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma Wesleyan has tied an NAIA Division II men's basketball record with its 27th consecutive win.

The Eagles beat Southwestern (Kan.) 97-72 on Tuesday night to match the record set by Evangel (Mo.) from Nov. 9, 2001, to Feb. 16, 2002. Oklahoma Wesleyan's last loss came on Jan. 20 to College of the Ozarks (Mo.).

Oklahoma Wesleyan rebounded from that loss to win last season's NAIA Division II title.

The Eagles will try to break the national record when they host Hillsdale Free Will Baptist of Moore on Dec. 4. Oklahoma Wesleyan (9-0) then will play Dec. 15 at Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) before a Dec. 19 game at Rocky Mountain College (Mont.), which won last season's NAIA Division I title.

Another Oklahoma school, Oklahoma City University, holds the NAIA Division I record for consecutive wins, having won 63 in a row from 1991 to 1993.
