DEL CITY, Oklahoma -- A teen has died after he was shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 427 Tinker Diagonal, according to police.

Police arrived at the apartment complex around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and found 16-year-old Herendez Daniel Prieto on the front porch of an apartment, bleeding.

Police said Prieto was sitting in his car in the parking lot when an unknown gunman approached and shot him. The teen was then able to crawl to a nearby apartment, where officers found him.

Prieto died at a hospital Wednesday morning.

Police have no motive for the killing and are still searching for the shooter.

"We don't have any witnesses or suspect information," said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Kevin Barnes. "We're still trying to piece together exactly what happened here."

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Oklahoma City Crime Stoppers at 405-235-7300. Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
