TULSA, OK -- Beginning December first, Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa will begin bringing meals to about 150 seniors who used to get meals from Senior Nutrition.

State budget cuts forced Senior Nutrition to cut some of its service to the elderly and disabled homebound.

"Most seniors, most homebound, that is their only meal for the day. It is a nutritious, balanced meal and it is probably the only one that they will have that day along with the only visit they will have," said Stacie Wilson, Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa.

The agency says it's confident volunteers and donors will help them cover the additional $125,000 cost per year.
