OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City police are seeking the public's help to find a man accused of impersonating a police officer.
Police said the man pretended to be a police officer and pulled over a woman near NW 122nd Street and Meridian Avenue around 9 p.m. Thursday night. The man then asked the woman to come back to his car, and he sexually assaulted her.
The suspect was described as a black male about 30 to 35 years old, approximately 5' 8" tall and weighed 180 pounds. He was wearing a khaki shirt and pants but had no badge or patches on his shirt and was wearing a shiny police belt. He appeared to be clean cut, clean shaven and wore his hair very short.
"There's nobody in this area that wears a khaki uniform. She did describe them as being very clean cut. Again he had no badge, he had no gun, he had no patches on his shoulder, which typically identify law enforcement," said Oklahoma City Police MSgt. Gary Knight.
Police said he was driving a black older model car with a light bar on top and Plexiglas dividing the front and back seats.
Police said if you're pulled over and want to be sure it's a police officer, drive to a well-lit crowded parking lot and call 911.
Anyone with information regarding this case should call Crime Stoppers at 405-235-7300. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
