OKLAHOMA CITY –- The state Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the final victims in the southwest Oklahoma City house fire and confirmed that the four victims died of gunshot wounds.
Oklahoma City police detectives recovered knives, shell casings, ammunition and a small amount of marijuana inside the burned out home.
In a search warrant affidavit filed Wednesday in Oklahoma County, police say they also recovered a digital scale, baggies and identification belonging to one of the victims, 22-year-old Brooke Phillips, a prostitute featured on the HBO reality series "Cathouse."
There were six victims of the fire because two of the women, Brooke Phillips of Moore and 22-year-old Milagros Barrera, were pregnant.
Jennifer Lynn Ermey, 25, of Edmond and Casey Mark Barrientos, 32, of Oklahoma City were both identified as the other victims.
The bodies were found by firefighters battling the blaze at the home last Monday.
Police Sgt. Gary Knight said determining the identities and cause of death for the victims has been complicated by damage done to the bodies by the fire.
Since Oklahoma is one of 35 states across the country that recognizes unborn children as murder victims, District Attorney David Prater said all suspects will be charged with six counts of murder.
Monday's fire came less than a week after a blaze at a southwest Oklahoma City apartment building several miles away killed three people. Investigators have said that fire was also intentionally set.
David Allen Tyner, 28, was arrested in connection with the homicide. According to Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Gary Knight, David Allen Tyner turned himself in to the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office early Tuesday morning
There has been a special phone line set up specifically for tips regarding the homicides relating to the house fire. Anyone with information regarding this case should call (405) 297-1200. The new phone line will be manned, but if nobody answers, callers should leave a voicemail, as the line will be checked for messages regularly. This phone line is only for tips regarding this case.
