ENID, Oklahoma – Enid police are investigating a stabbing that took place near a local bar Tuesday night.

Police found the victim, 49-year-old Dusty McFarland, sitting on a sidewalk near the Turf Bar at about 7:50 p.m.  Police said McFarland was suffering from several stab wounds to his chest and abdomen.

Police said McFarland and a female acquaintance were at the bar when an unknown man and woman stepped inside pushing a baby stroller.  A bar employee told them they could not come in with a baby and they left.  The two came back a short time later still pushing the baby stroller.  Again, the bar employee told them they could not have a baby in the bar and the man lifted a blanket to show that there was not a baby in the stroller and said the baby was left down the street.  Police said McFarland left the bar concerned they left the baby outside and found nothing.  He returned to the bar.

According to police, there was "an exchange of words" between the man and woman and they left, with both McFarland and his female acquaintance following suit.  Once outside, police said, "there were some words exchanged between the female suspect and female acquaintance." The man then reportedly came up behind McFarland and attacked him with a knife and a struggle ensued.

Both suspects left, still pushing the baby stroller.

Police describe the suspects as a white male with a tall, slender build with long blondish-brown hair possibly in a pony tail, white bandana, camouflage colored pants and a white T-shirt who's in his 30's.  The woman is described as a white female with a shorter, heavyset build with longer brown hair in a ponytail, possibly a lighter green shirt, also in her 30's.

“It is unknown if the suspects actually had a child or if they use the stroller to transport personal belongings” said Enid Police Capt. Dean Grassino. “It is possible that these two suspects do not have a vehicle and walk around town pushing the stroller”. We believe based on their descriptions that someone knows these suspects and ask that anyone with information or if anyone observes someone matching these description to call the police department with any information. Investigators are still interviewing witnesses and processing evidence as the case remains under investigation.

Anyone having information that will lead to the arrest or prosecution of the crime or any other crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 233-6233 or go to the Web site, http://www.enid.org/police/ and submit a tip anonymously. You can earn a reward up to $1,000.00. You will not be required to testify and will not be identified.
