FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Authorities say an Oklahoma man paid his handyman to kill his former son-in-law in North Dakota.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown says 63-year-old Gene Kirkpatrick was arrested Monday night on complaints of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit burglary in the death of 49-year-old Fargo dentist Philip Gattuso.
Brown says Kirkpatrick, of Jones, Okla., did not like the way Gattuso had been raising Kirpatrick's 3-year-old granddaughter. Gattuso had been married to Kirkpatrick's daughter, who died in March.
The 41-year-old handyman, Michael Nakvinda, was arrested at his home in Oklahoma City over the weekend. He's accused of beating Gattuso to death on Oct. 26.
