OKLAHOMA CITY -- It is officially spring, but Oklahoma is about to get slammed with a winter storm. Beginning on Friday, temperatures will likely only reach up to 45 degrees and then fall throughout the day. There is also a 100 percent chance for rain changing over to sleet Friday afternoon, then changing into snow later Friday evening.
With the cold temperatures, winter precipitation and a north wind at 20 to 40 miles per hour, Friday will be an unpleasant day to be outside.
Saturday morning will start off with a morning freeze around 29 degrees with the snow ending on Saturday. Accumulations will range from over a foot possible in northwest Oklahoma, and a trace to 6 inches possible in the metro, with no accumulation expected in southeast Oklahoma.
