Ponca City Teen Injured After Running In Front Of SUV

A Ponca City teen was seriously injured after troopers say he ran out in front of a moving vehicle while intoxicated at about 2 a.m. Saturday.

A Ponca City teen was seriously injured after troopers say he ran out in front of a moving vehicle while intoxicated at about 2 a.m. Saturday.

Brandon Lee Williams, 17, was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Pleasant View Road about a mile north of Ponca City's city limits, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Another Ponca City teen was driving the SUV southbound on Pleasant View after turning around at a dead end.

Willliams, who troopers say was intoxicated, ran out in front of the jeep and was struck. He received head, arm and leg injuries and was taken to a Ponca City hospital in serious condition.

The 16-year-old driver and 16-year-old passenger in the Jeep were not injured. Police say the driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee was in apparently normal condition at the time of the accident.
